fR-MeshDistance is an powerful texture map that can be used in many surprising ways. This texture map is available in the finalRender 3.5 SE version only.
Its main purpose is to automatically fade the texture map to black based on the distance of the respective object to the surface. One or more "exterior" objects may also be chosen to measure the distance between the surface to which the map is applied and the picked object(s).
Note that only true 3D materials are suitable for this texture map, such as fR-Volumetric or fR-VolumeSolid.
